Be an extra in a film and raise $$$ for
New Mexico Jazz Workshop!

Have a few hours to be an extra in film? If you do, the Pantelion Production Company (parent company, Lionsgate) will donate $50 for each person who participates!Days on a movie set can be long, BUT you're well-fed, and there's plenty of downtime to read a book, knit, or RELAX, as you raise a little coin for NMJW

The Movie:
“La Vida Robot” with George Lopez.
Comedian George Lopez has signed a major production deal with Pantelion, which will have him producing and starring in a string of upcoming films! His first project is a movie called La Vida Robot, which is based on a true story about Latino inventors. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

For every participant, Pantelion will donate $50 to NMJW. Call your friends and family and let's make this a big PAY DAY for the Jazz Workshop!

The Dates:
The production is looking for extras for the following days:  Oct. 22, 23, 24, 28 and Nov. 11 and 12. It is not necessary to attend all the days. The only day we would like everyone to attend is Oct. 23.

If you are available for any or all of these dates, please contact MAUD BEENHOUWER:  maud@nmjazz.org or 505-255-9798. Once you've made a commitment to volunteering as an extra, you will receive all the necessary details to take part in the filming.

THANKS!

Get ready for an old school, classic night of down home blues with slicked-back Memphis P’Tails and good-old blues and R&B with Santa Fe based band, the Pleasure Pilots.

 Memphis P'Tails                                    Pleasure Pilots

Memphis P’Tails: When you talk about the Memphis P. Tails, you’re talking raw blues. The real blues. The roots. No pretense. No studio tricks, no glossy polish. Not “blues funk”, or any other sort of blues derivative. It's straight blues, no chaser. The sound is clean and hard-driving, with roots in the Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi Delta blues, with a little Chicago thrown in for good measure. This is a classic sound, a throwback to the true roots of blues and blues rock, and yet modern in its delivery and relevance. It is a sound so distinctive, so compelling, and so timeless, that it gets down to the bottom of your soul – and stays there. The blues is universal, and the P. Tails are masters of the genre. If you listen, you will be hooked.

Pleasure Pilots: The Pleasure Pilots is a Santa Fe, New Mexico based band specializing in old school styles of blues and R&B, as well as their own original music. Included in their repertoire are songs from the greats such as Amos Milburn, T-Bone Walker, Albert King, Ray Charles and Fats Domino. With a driving rhythm section, great horn section, powerful vocals and musicianship, they make an undeniably compelling force behind dancing feet!
